Maritza Woel
Bio
Maritza is a bilingual lawyer developing a versatile practice in all areas of litigation. Prior to joining us, Maritza served as a judicial law clerk to the Honourable Justice Roger R. Lafrenière at the Federal Court. Before that, Maritza completed her articles at a top global law firm in Ottawa.
Maritza received her law degree from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She completed her degree in the combined Juris Doctor and Political Science program. She was also placed on the Dean's Honour List for academic excellence. During her legal studies, Maritza worked as a research assistant to the vice-dean, conducting research on federal and provincial legislation pertaining to immigration law and the rights of Canadian citizens.
When Maritza is out of the office, she enjoys weightlifting and CrossFit-style workouts, spending time outdoors, baking (her specialties being brownies, chocolate chip blondies, and chocolate cake), and listening to true crime podcasts.
Maritza serves her clients in both English and French.
